Have Some Fun with These Activities Near Dallas
No matter where you choose to go, it’s important to maintain at least six feet of distance and wear a mask to prevent the spread of coronavirus. By following these steps, you can help you keep you and your fellow Texans healthy.
Here are a few local activities that you can safely enjoy all across the Dallas area—we hope you love them as much as we do!
Visit the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden
Known as the city’s number one attraction, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden showcases a colorful landscape of both exotic and native plants. Visitors love exploring the named gardens, including the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden and Margaret Elisabeth Jonsson Color Garden.
Be sure to catch the end of the Arboretum’s special exhibition, the Summer of Sculpture, which runs until September 7th!
Explore the Dallas Zoo
Featuring over 2,000 animals and 406 unique species, the Dallas Zoo is the perfect place to get in touch with nature while maintaining social distance. Currently, the Zoo is open regular hours, but all guests must purchase tickets prior to their arrival.

Did you know that Dallas is home to over 300 works of public art? It’s true—and you can see them all on a walking tour of the city! This self guided experience allows you to explore Dallas at your own pace, and there are plenty of Instagram-worthy spots that you won’t want to miss.

Head to the top of Reunion Tower
The Reunion Tower is one of the most iconic landmarks of Dallas’s skyline, and it’s once again open for visitors. If you’re eager to take in some of the most beautiful views of the city, reserve your ticket online and get ready for the 561 foot elevator ride to the famous GeO-Deck.

Hike through Cedar Hill State Park
For the ultimate natural getaway, consider taking a drive to Cedar Hill State Park, which is just 20 minutes from Dallas via US-67. Here, you can relax along the shores of Joe Pool Lake, test your skills on the DORBA Mountain Bike Trail, or explore the Penn Farm Agricultural History Center.
Cedar Hill State Park also has two camping areas, in addition to a boat ramp, a small picnic area, and a fishing jetty.
